Deemed the apex predator of the Arctic, polar bears are one of the strongest carnivores alive. Their paws, fur and skin are specially adapted to thrive in the extreme cold. But their strength and fearlessness don’t guarantee the easiest life. With climate change causing global temperatures to rise and the Arctic heating up twice as fast as anywhere else, even the adaptable polar bear’s future is uncertain.
