Commanders’ Robinson Shot In Possible Robbery Attempt

Washington Commanders rookie running back Brian Robinson was shot multiple times during a possible attempted robbery. Robinson sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his lower extremities in the incident. The incident occurred on the evening of Aug. 28 in Washington DC, according to a police spokesperson. The rookie running back was taken to hospital with what the team described as “non-life threatening injuries.” Co-owners Dan and Tanya Snyder, president Jason Wright and coach Ron Rivera were at the hospital with Robinson. "He is in good spirits and wanted me to thank everyone for their kind words, prayers & support. He wants his teammates to know he appreciates them all for reaching out and he loves them all," Ron Rivera, Washington Commanders, Head Coach. Police have identified two potential suspects and recovered a firearm a short distance from where the incident occurred. Authorities are unsure if Robinson was the victim of a carjacking or just an armed robbery attempt.
