Bayern Munich Voted Against Signing Ronaldo
The Bayern Munich board voted against signing Cristiano Ronaldo, according to the club’s sporting director. Hasan Salihamidzic said the club voted against signing the 37-year-old as it did not make “sporting and financial” sense. Salihamidzic said that despite losing Robert Lewandowski to Barcelona, they still have plenty of attackers in their squad. "We have eight players for four positions up front... We have established top players who are in the prime of their footballing age. We have talent that we want to give playing time to," Hasan Salihamidzic. The club have also already signed Sadio Mane from Liverpool for a fee of €41 million this summer. And the decision not to sign Ronaldo seems to be working well for Bayern, who have made an explosive start to the season. Bayern have already scored 15 goals this season, despite only having played three games. New signing Mane has provided three of those goals.
