World Cup Start Date Set To Change
FIFA are said to be considering changing the start date of this year's World Cup, according to reports. FIFA are considering the change in order to allow host nation Qatar to play the tournament's first game. Senegal vs the Netherlands was previously announced as the opening match of this year's tournament. The match was due to kick off the tournament on Nov. 21. However, FIFA are now considering moving the Qatar vs Ecuador match to Nov. 20. The change would continue the tradition of the host nation playing the first match of the World Cup, which began in 2006. The last time a host nation did not feature in the opening game was the 2002 World Cup hosted by Japan and South Korea.
