Hugh Grant is rumored to be on the shortlist of actors who might portray Prince Andrew in an upcoming movie about his interview on Newsnight. The movie, which is called Scoop, is being written by Your Honor screenwriter Peter Moffat and it will tell the story of how the interview came about. Deadline claims that Grant is “one of the unconfirmed names in the frame” to portray Prince Andrew. During the interview, Prince Andrew denied sleeping with Virginia Giuffre when she was 17. He claimed that he was at Pizza Express in Woking with his daughter Princess Beatrice at the time of the alleged attack. The movie will be based on Scoops: Behind the Scenes of the BBC’s Most Shocking Interviews by BBC producer Sam McAlister. Moffat told Deadline that the story of how the Newsnight interview came about “makes for very thrilling drama”.
